Terms of service

Last updated: August 28, 2026

These terms apply when you use CiteScript (citescript.com), a service operated from the United Kingdom. By using CiteScript you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed past, so they are kept short.

What CiteScript is

CiteScript converts video scripts you paste into written content, such as articles and related formats, using Anthropic’s Claude API. The output is generated by AI from the script you provide.

Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old. If you use CiteScript on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

Your content is yours

You keep all rights to the scripts you submit and to the content generated from them. We claim no ownership of either. You give us permission to process your script, including sending it to Anthropic for generation, solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to any script you submit.

You review before you publish

The output is AI-generated. It can contain mistakes, and it reflects whatever was in your script. You are responsible for reviewing and editing generated content before you publish it, and for anything you publish.

No guarantees about results

CiteScript produces written content designed to be useful for search and AI visibility, but we do not and cannot guarantee search rankings, traffic, or citations by AI assistants. How your content performs depends on factors outside our control.

Free tier and fair use

Anonymous visitors can convert one video per month, tracked with a salted hash of the visitor’s IP address. The free tier is subject to fair use: do not attempt to circumvent the limit, script against the service, or otherwise abuse it. We may restrict use that goes beyond fair use.

Accounts

Accounts are accessed by magic link sent to your email, with optional Google sign-in. There are no passwords. Keep control of your email inbox, because anyone with access to it can sign in to your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

  • Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record. CiteScript never sees your card details, and Polar’s own terms apply to payment processing.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • If something is not right, ask us for a refund within 14 days of the charge at support@citescript.com and we will handle the request reasonably.

Acceptable use

Do not use CiteScript to create or process unlawful content, do not interfere with or disrupt the service, and do not try to gain access to accounts or data that are not yours.

Ending things

You can close your account at any time. When it closes, your account data and generation history are deleted. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms; where reasonable, we will warn you first.

The service is provided as is

CiteScript is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limits on liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for claims arising from the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep using CiteScript after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the United Kingdom.
